Se dieron a conocer los artistas que se presentarán en la exposición central en la Bienal de Venecia 2019
Después de muchos avances, la lista de artistas que participarán en la Bienal de Venecia 2019 se ha hecho pública. La exposición central de este año, «Puede que vivas en tiempos interesantes», que fue curada por el director de Hayward Gallery, Ralph Rugoff, y tiene como objetivo hacer de la difusión de información errónea su tema central (aka Fake News), incluirá un total de 83 artistas.
La lista presenta a una multitud particularmente joven: más de un tercio de los artistas participantes nacieron en los años 80 o posteriores. La lista incluye figuras del mundo del arte integral como George Condo, Carol Bove, Nicole Eisenman, Arthur Jafa, Christian Marclay, Julie Mehretu, Henry Taylor, Rosemarie Trockel y Hito Steyerl, así como una serie de artistas más jóvenes que han estado obteniendo gran difusion en los últimos años incluyendo a Korakrit Arunanondchai, Jesse Darling, Martine Gutierrez y Avery Singer. La gran exhibicion se abre justo antes de otra bienal, muy vista y con otra lista de artistas que se sesga joven y diversa, la Bienal de Whitney 2019, y se desarrollará desde el 11 de mayo hasta el 24 de noviembre.
